Description

A stairway system along the trail descending the Helderberg Escarpment near Albany, New York USA. The immense limestone cliff rock is a mass of successive reefs formed during the Devonian Period over 300 million years ago. Many fossil mollusk shells and corals can be seen in the rock face during a hike.
